Jonny Ive---It's not great design when the first thing most of your iPhone users have to do is mod your product with a case just to use it for its intended purpose.

Especially as the primary purpose of your design seems to be to focus on the visual aesthetic---which is voided by said case.

I couldn’t agree more! I sometimes take mine out of the case to admire its beauty and caress its curves but ultimately it’s useless unless its protected. Such an expensive piece of kit should be built to withstand the environment of its intended use. Not limited to iPhone though. I hate the stupid fucking cases.

Phone manufacturers seem to think that Gorilla Glass is a license to make thinner screens (which defeats the anti-breaking purpose of Gorilla Glass) rather than an opportunity to make more durable devices.
