I don't wanna sleep because waking up sucks.
Ugh, why are humans so inefficient?

Waking up is the best because ideas and solutions flow like butterflies in the air.

@rutee07 dont worry.. Once we finish building our robo-overlords we will take back our proper place in evolution

Try waking up earlier. You dip into deep sleep several times a night. If you've got your alarm set to wake you up during one of these dips you end up feeling super shitty.

Diet and exercise also help. Anyway, you're experiencing a known problem with easily googleable solutions.

@rutee07 there is no "supposed;" there is no belonging. Everything before and after us is just as much an aberration.

Waking up sucks because I can't sleep until it's 4 am because of anxiety, then I have to wake up at 8. 🙂

Artificial intelligence is on its way to overcoming its problems (humanity). It is us that slower it down. Robots will not need sleep. Become a robot now!

BTW It really depends at which time you wake up. If you had an EEG headset, you could determine if you were in REM sleep state and wake yourself at the end (you are a fucking programmer). Those are really expensive, though. Wikipedia says there is some correlation between REM and pulse, but I don't think it is reliable enough.

@matsaki95 related to your last point: I've struggled with insomnia on and off my whole life. One of the biggest reliefs was when I stopped worrying about how much sleep I was getting, and instead focused on just resting.

By "resting" I mean just laying in bed with the lights off and my eyes closed. I found that even if I didn't fall asleep all night, I still felt better than if I'd been constantly checking the time to see how late it was.

Invariably, this eventually made it easier for me to relax enough to actually fall asleep for chunks of time throughout the night.

Anyway, I didn't mean to come off as callous towards people with sleep issues. I've simply found that worrying about it only makes it worse.
