In my 1st semester, they taught us C++ basics
In my 2nd semester, they didn't teach us shit about CS.
In my 3rd semester, they taught us C basics
In my 4th semester, they taught us Java basics
In my 5th semester, they are teaching us Scratch and Python basics

Can you be fucking done with basics already for fuck sake? I'm a fucking Front End Developer here interning with companies and getting paid whilst I pay a fucking huge sum as college fee and learn fucking basics I knew back in high school? And you're teaching me Scratch, what the fuck is wrong with you; kids in pre-school are taught scratch. Fuck you education system, India!

Which countries should I consider for my post grad?
I'm so fucking done here.

    Sadly, this applies to many courses in the internet too. And I guess it will always be like that. There are many more people who understood the basics just good enough to teach them. Only a fraction of them really excels in the respective language.

    And if you really excel in it, you may be a very busy person who earns loads of money and has no time for teaching.

    I was at same place as you, coming from the same city even lol. I moved to ireland for studies and its been a really nice upgrade.

    Lol you just strengthened my reasoning for never going to university.

    I’m trying to figure out why in the hell you were learning scratch in the 5th semester of college. I learned that in one day in middle school🤔

    scratch?? is there anyone who use scratch in professional field?
  • 3
    Nursery teachers perhaps @aureliagbrl

    My school jumped straight to java and mysql

    @Braed Or it should strengthen your resolution to go to a good university.

    I won't complain about my university anymore.
    I also attended an IT high school and I never saw Scratch. And why the hell would they teach you both Java and python? You don't need a college to learn their basics, a tutorial is enough. What you need is advanced programming concepts, which you won't find elsewhere and a self taught won't get

    @Cyanide Even for international students?!

    Come to germany! :)
  • 2
    @hasu would I need to learn German beforehand?
  • 2
    @makwayne depends on the uni. If you come here for masters, my uni asks in every course if there is someone who doesn't underatand german. If that's the case the lecture will be held in english. Slides are usually in english anyway. So you can get buy without german.

    @hasu that's awesome! I'll look for options :)
  • 2
    @makwayne just leave that college and take your education in your hands, don't depend on anyone. That's what I'm doing and my personal experience says, my life is fucked (in a positive way)
