    @Leflawk When it comes to the architecture, Mastodon beats both G+ and Twitter any day of the week.

    Just that I currently find better content on the latter two.

    @dthree Yup!

    I even thought of fitting GitHub in there somewhere but decided otherwise! 😅

    Facebook's not that ba...okay yea it is. Wish I could stop using it, but it literally the only network everyone I know is on. So I just keep my privacy settings tight and never post.

    ... oh, thanks for reminding me that i might want to go to facebook again to erase the notification list after the month and a half since i did it the last time.

    they tend to pile up quickly and i hate the thought of wasting someone's server space.

    @deadPix3l Everyone I know is on Facebook... But I still deleted my account anyway, because:

    1. Everyone I know is not that interesting.

    2. The 2-3 people that are interesting can be contacted over the phone, or live within biking distance.

    Facebook thrives on the fear of missing out, the worry that people are having fun without you. Life is better when your miss out, because other people make an even bigger mess of life than you do.

    They just know how to add nice filters.

    My sister in law went through a troublesome pregnancy and deals with severe postnatal depression — only pictures of baby dressed up in cute outfits on her timeline.

    If this "Everyone I know" group posted real shit, posted about their joys and fears and troubles and brainfarts in honesty, I might have considered staying despite Facebook's ethical issues.

    But it's not just the company that's shit, its userbase is also completely hollow.

    @bittersweet That's the most real, honest and sensible thing I've read in a while. 🍷

    Perfectly summarises the state of the world today.

    @SanitizedOutput yeah, probably, but i wasn't willing to let some implementation detail like that get in the way of me making that joke =D
