All is code.

Think about it. Do you agree?

    As code is logic, I'd be happier with "all is logic".

    However, I think the world is fundamentally analogue.

    Certainly at any level of abstraction I'd care about.

    And code is data. Data is code.

    @kpenc sounds right

    @platypus not sure if it is logic in the way the universe expands or why we breathe but there seem to be rules behind it all, right? These rules must be based on data and functions. I think that's an interesting parallel

    @Intronout sadly, only in the homoiconic world of Lisps

    @Intronout I believe there are laws governing the universe and those follow some mathematical relationships---so functions and data, sure.

    @platypus just to make sure we all get this right. There's nothing I despise more than creationism

    @Intronout No Intelligent Design by the Great Programmer, then?

    I'm warming to the idea that we're all in the Matrix, though. Explains a lot.

    @platypus not at all, no

    @platypus yeah, ever heard of the simulation theory? Pretty interesting shit

    @Intronout Yes. Read an interesting paper out of Oxford U (IIRC) on the subject.

    Of course, Matrix is inspired by Baudrillard's work---hence the book that Neo puts the money in at the start of the movie.

    @platypus cool, did not know this before

    @Intronout His work isn't particular accessible to a lay reader, but, if you are interested in the subject it makes it's easier to get into it.

    @Intronout mostly just probability. If you read about evolution deeply its just probability and happening of lot of improbable things. There isn't a logic behind. Although some people believe that just because we aren't aware of the logic currently, or aren't ready for it, doesn't mean that there isn't any.

    Scientists finally develop Grand Unified Field Theory: "Turns out it's just a goddawful mess of if statements all the way down" says lead researcher.
