Do ergonomic keyboards and mice help?

Yesterday I went through 6 hour maintenance without a break which involved a lot of typing and clicking.... (Because shit never works properly on live server, right?)
And now my right shoulder through my wrist feels numb.

I'm thinking maybe it's time to give up on 'gaming' rigs...
What are your thoughts?
Or should I just stretch more often?

I never ignore signs like that. I have an ergonomic set that I switch to when things start acting up. Then eventually I'll switch back. I think it's the change back and forth that is good, keeping repetitive stress injuries (RSI) at bay. Also stretch your wrists/arms/shoulders/neck often.

I can't stress enough how important this is. The investment is also really small compared to living in pain for years.

my only tip here is try before you buy. (or try and return) every body is different so no one set of ergonomic peripherals fits everyone.

Stretch every 30 minutes. Even if it's just small movement, it helps. My left hand always hurt after playing osu for too long, but with stretching regularly I have no problems.
