It's hard to find someone to have real intellectual debates with these days, many like foolish jokes more than serious discussions about topics ranging from CS, history, physics, astronomy, technology, anything significant...

Is it just me ?

Ignorance is spreading at supersonic speeds

    I had this problem until I went to high school. There are a lot of people O can talk to about a wide range of topics.

    My suggestion is change your surroundings.

    You have to be in search all the time and you will find those people, trust me.

    Don’t stuck on your circle, try to escape.

    My preference is serious conversation on deep topics (including the topics you mentioned) involving tons of jokes about said topics. It is indeed tricky to find people interested in that kind of conversation, much less people who have anything interesting to say about them. Keep looking though they are out there.

    @ThreadRipper I understand completely, I felt the same way in middle school. There are still a lot of comolete morons in high school but it got much better.
