What kind of braindead motherfucker at Google thought that it's a good idea to update the bus departures in real-time based on the current time and the departure of your first bus?! No Google, I didn't miss that first bus. I took it and now I have to transfer. Ever heard of that, certified motherfucker?! You don't have to reschedule the departures of my next busses to a later time for that!!

Happens to me too. Just change your departure time from "now" to few minutes earlier. That will give you more accurate schedule which you can actually use.

    Umm.. don't look at Google!

@yendenikhil any alternatives to Google Maps that you'd suggest for navigation with public transit?

@Condor 9292ov.nl but you're from belgium I seem to remember.

Edit: Yeah your profile says so, just ogrnoreme.

@Condor in NL we have 9292 which is pretty accurate, you would have something similar in BE, would you not?

And they have map as well with efficient route than Google maps.
  • 2
@yendenikhil well for the routes I prefer Google Maps. A lot of the time it fails finding a route for me.

But for public transports and delays its really nice.

@yendenikhil @MisterArie thanks for the suggestions. In Belgium we have De Lijn, which has an app.. But I don't like the interface of it to be honest. It's been a while since I last used it though, so perhaps they've changed it.

Maybe citymapper is an option depending on where you life.

@Condor Unfortunately interface of 9292 also leaves lot to desire. But I understand as they are not IT / Tech company who can compete with likes of Google. Where they lack in finesse they do well in proper real time update of public transport timings and efficient routing of connections.

@Condor Moovit seems to be a good app. I used it for the bus schedules of Lisbon.

    > doesn't use electronic card for privacy
    > searches for routes in maps

    inb4: but anon, "it's a throwaway account"
    Are you changing it daily?
Pretty sure they are able to track you even without any account, except if you maaaaaybe stripe the browser completely down, tor browser style. Which I doubt on mobile

@Kimmax again, if you know any viable alternatives to Google Maps please let me know. I don't like Maps but couldn't find anything better so far that respects my privacy. So essentially I'm using it against my will.

Use the app from De Lijn itself? Same data...

@xewl same crap * but even worse 😅

@Condor I mostly just check up front or at the moment when I need it. I get numerous of notifications like "You're here?" & "Bus XXX comes by at Y:Z", but just swipe those away later in time.

For the 5 diff busses I can take.. meh... daily repetitive shit anyway
