Even though we have sophisticated CD pipeline, decided to modify war on server (modifying 1 source file, compile it and patch it on server (Java based)). Just cause CD takes 4 hours and we "only have" 15 mins to do it. So manual patching with rush job. Now when I think about it, I cringe and thank the dev ducks that we didn't messed it up even worse!1
It seems people have loads of time, as so much is spent on this platform. It would be interesting to find out how much total time spent here every day!4
Just got one refurbished laptop (x220)
Going to install Arch (first time). Let's see how well it goes :-)4
Trustico CEO emailed private key which is used to sign TLS certificates, making more than 23k certificates compromised!
This makes me think, that we should not trust others for our security (like ca), failure of CA can put our website at risk. What is the better way to do it?
Which keyboard do you use on phone? I got curious because lot is people are using Unicode character, so looking for some support other than copy paste from Unicode app or web page.4
Why why why people on devRant rant with stupid ignorance,
oooh windows is bad, why cause it takes longer to start, cause everyone says so, fuck you, build your opinion and don't surf on popular vote.
One more, ooh java sucks, cause you fucking don't know when and how to use it.
I'm just frustrated that some people on this community rant/comment for fucking clickbaits.
I'm not endorsing or bashing either windows or java here, you would know if you read the rant properly!9
I was away from devRant for more than six months. It is good to be back. How I missed this!
Just spent hour browsing through the rants. So refreshing. Also so many improvements and new features to devRant, developers are busy.3
Today, we can edit comments or post upto 5 mins only to maintain the flow.
But would it make sense to be able to amend comments and post anytime and east way to see publicly the history of edits. This will serve the original purpose while correcting cosmetic changes even after 5 mins.
What do you people think?5
