Had quite some laugh at this, could be absolutely fake but it's still a great thread

    @dfox thank you! 😊

    Well I wouldn't expect any less from that Musk guy. He's burning Tesla money on all the wrong things, and making losses every quarter. He's afraid of AI? Learn how the fuck AI works first. It's not a Terminator, and will never be. It's a fucking computer program with a feedback system. Tesla batteries in Australia "marvelous engineering"? Fuck no! It's just a fucking bunch of lithium cells and some inverters. You know, the kind that powers every single electric car out there. The only difference is the size, achieved by no more than money. The launch of the SpaceX rockets? Yeah that was a leap forward. But everything else.. fuck no! And when are those Tesla cars and trucks finally gonna launch? Because you know Musk, those trucks also just need an amplification in their battery volume and inverters. Yet he can't do that much? Certified piece of shit.

    @xzvf nobody can edit rant categories yet, so it's not out of laziness

    @Condor "It's a fucking computer program with a feedback system."

    That indeed applies to the AI. But the warnings were about AGI and ASI afaik.

    @qwwerty Most certainly. But will AGI ever be possible to achieve? Indeed, an AGI would have general intelligence like a human being and be able to do various different tasks, while having far more computing power at its disposal. But neural networks nowadays tend to only be able to specialize to do this one very specific task and excel at it. A next-level autist, one could say (and no that's not an insult, I have Asperger myself). So yeah.. AI as it is today, no big deal. AI as it could be tomorrow, as far as I can tell that'd just be a higher degree of optimization, perhaps a couple of specialized AI's combined. But I'm honestly not very worried about it.

    What I'd be worried about is the fact that our general intelligence brains are driven by electrical pulses.. pulses that could be manipulated, once the human brain is fully understood. All of our senses, it could all be tricked into some reality that would be no more or less than a Matrix. Our brain, cultivated by evolution without technology for the majority of its existence, has no way whatsoever to protect against that.

    Yep. AI can never match human General intelligence. I mean, it's like saying I can fit hundreds of libraries in the palm of my hand. The nerve!

    @shaji sure, "can never happen"

    the same way how "heavier than air flight' was not possible and there was no reson to pursue car manufacturing, as horses were faster way of transport
