Today is a sad day for me.
I lost all of my data today. My phone was in my pocket and the Iris scanner was looking for a face. I guess it did it multiple times because I found that it had completely reset my phone.

I'm pissed mostly because I knew I had some control over when I could have backed up my phone... I could have at least been pushed back a month but now I'm pushed back by a whole year!
That is a fuck ton of time for things to have happened.

I'm just sad right now guys. There was some good stuff that could have been saved.

    I'm sorry about that. Why would your phone wipe all data upon too many failed attempts? Doesn't a failed attempt man that whoever tried to get in didn't succeed?

    Also, what phone was it?

    I too am curious which phone wipes data on failed face-unlock attempts. I thought the eyeProducts only did it on pin number failures.

    iPhone will if you’re crazy enough to enable that setting

    Feature: put your phone in a pocket to erase all your data.

    How is that even possible i have an iphone too never encountered my phone scanning for faces automatically u must be doing something that have cause your phone to scan multiple times

    Uh... how is this possible? Doesn't it just reset to you having to enter your password after too many failed FaceID/Iris Scanner attempts?

    @GMR516 It was a Galaxy S8. Honestly, I'm not sure what had happened. I just knew that I left home with a good working phone, the next I was home and it was completely reset a half hour later.

    @electrineer that's a great idea:

    Another innovation - look away to reset to default settings.

    I think we're on to something.

    @deadPix3l whenever your calendar shows that you won't be near a charger for a long period, or if you actually need you phone for something important, activate batteryConsumptionBooster.

    @electrineer

    Use GPS elevation to tell if you're on a plane and turn on airplane mode accordingly. Inverse is default obviously, so that you have service up there. Just in case.
