Well if you started your own consultancy you could scrape way more to yourself.
So why dont you? -
@rootshell true but that comes with having to do a lot of administration all the time, which is the thing I absolutely hate.
Didn't say I'm chasing the money or am unhappy with the way things are ;) -
@retoor yea we pay shitload of taxes. It's because we have to pay for those eurocrats and F-35 to defend ourselves from putin.
And all the unemployment for the people who lost their job because opel only made 4 billion profit this year.
Meanwhile both my parent work for the state. They're understaffed. And I mean the base is understaffed. I barely see them because they work the nightshift all the time.
The middle managment is not understaffed. -
@webketje I just realized I'm severly underpaid. Living in bx is a pain everything is expensive as shit.
We should start a biz -
@webketje I see contracts in bx for 500-600. That should be more comfortable. Why are we even working for 150 a day? That was a good rate when the average appartment was 600 euros. Now they're two time that

Negociate new terms and increased pay.
They will resist.
When they do, use the following sentence:
"You are winning with me, so please explain to me why I should be the one losing? " -
rootshell164718h@webketje ah dang. I'd be interested if you did, bx area + me in netherlands would give you decent service area. ;)
I would do it myself as well just can not be arsed with the business end of it. But the difference in pay is indeed massive. -
webketje219317h@antigermanist dunno if you're underpaid I have 10y of prof exp. And do fullstack/ server admin/ UX/ functional analysis. The contracts you see for 500-600/ day are not net, you still need to take out half if you're freelance or 33% if you have a one-person company (+50% if you pay it to yourself as wage). And add to that all additional costs and administration time. So in the end you'll do a lot more effort for a small increase. You're f'ed either way so I rather take the easy route

For me, per day:
-> what the client pays/ what the gatekeeping consultancy sells me for: 1200 (profit +- 400/66%)
-> what the gatekeeping consultancy pays/ what my consultancy sells me for: 600 (profit +- 200/66% - extralegal advantages cost)
-> what my consultancy pays me gross: 300
-> what I get net after wage taxes: 150
The state takes +- 500 in wage & company tax in the whole process.
That´s why I give you my full 20%-capacity effort.
