Well, a "root beer float" is ice cream, I think, so that's why he asks for a double. Not really related to the precision of the float and double types, just a word play... Or maybe, I didn't get it either :P

Plot twist: the bartender rips off his face, mission impossible style. "Hahaaa! It's me JavaScript! It's a string! bitches!" jumps out the window, catches a helicopter and flies off into the sunset.
