Who thought that "IP" was a good replacement for ifconfig... I don't care how great it is, you can't Google for "release DHCP IP" and get instructions like you could for "release DHCP ifconfig"

    @oudalally It certainly became harder to get some basic information, but we'll probably get used to it anyway.

    Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that they should have just kept ifconfig and netstat and all the other networking utilities and just updated them.

    Asked someone for help with an ifconfig command probably 4 years ago when I was starting to get more involved with the Linux shell and he said "ifconfig is deprecated, just use ip".
