Just curious why project manager involved in this?

Whether it is FP or oops, will deliver a working project. How does it matter to him?

this is the worst attitude. Its like saying "what does the coach have to be concerned about how we play soccer on the field?" His part is not actually kicking the ball but he is the one to know how each player kicks the ball and where to put him into play.
