    i7 3.5GHz can be anything, starting from a dual core potato.

    @electrineer Yup... But this was a pretty good cpu with 8 logical cores, 7th gen... The hardware really couldn't have been at fault here

    I have a dual core old gen mobile cpu in my laptop and visual studio runs fine lol

    @BobsterGaming it probably depends on the project. A code file with thousands of lines of class definitions can get Visual Stupido pretty sticky.

    That thing with the updates is not even funny anymore. And having moved my installation to an external disk means double the fun. External not allowed - - > updates never get installed - - > every boot results in lost time downloading the same huge updates again, baring any internet usage in the process. Fortunately I only have it for games now.
