Anyone who uses Wordpress for anything other than a blog.........😷

devRant cofounder dfox once got forced into helping out with a company's wp blog, so I made a poster and business cards for him as a "Sr. Wordpress Developer"

I never used WP and refuse to do so. I've turned down projects because they demanded WP.

I actually don't really mind using Wordpress as a cheap cms, with the right plugins it's ok such as podscms. However, working with the non OOP api and confusing documentation is almost masochism.

We do everything with WordPress. It's awesome. :)

WP ain't so bad as a free easy to CMS for the end user...and when you are building custom integrations, front ends, and plugins I don't see how you can say that is not development...now it you are simply using themes and plugins and never actually in the code that's a whole different story...

Gets a bad rap. Wordpress is just fine, and has a lot of support. Just please ... 3 plugins maximum. Everything else should be in the theme.

We use Wordpress for most projects. Avoid plug ins (You should implement into theme any features), minify, sprite, and make sure server has a good stack.
Watch out for core updates though.

I'd seriously question anyone who claims to be a developer and then states you should minimise the number of plugins or put functionality into themes. The number of plugins are irrelevant; it's what the plugins are doing that's important. It's like saying you should only use three functions at most.

Yeah okay, bro. Every tom dick and Harry has got a thousand plugins available that basically do what every developer should be integrating at the core of their theme. Try getting ranked while using those shitty SEO plugins.
Way to screw up an otherwise friendly rant... Give me a break.
