Is it just me or are the majority of plugins for WordPress simply wrappers for interacting with the DB? (In the sense that there's no need for them in more modern CMSs that feature structured content functionality out of the box)1

WordPress 'specialists' love to proclaim that 27 per cent of the web is powered by WordPress (which is incorrect anyway - https://rarst.net/wordpress/... ).

Sometimes it's great being a developer... Even when it is stressful.1
