It still amazes me that people willingly choose apple. After being given a MacBook for work, I sort of expected it to grow on me a bit. But no, it forces you to do everything in their stupid apple way. It is form over function in its purest form.

Just wait until it breaks and they charge you out of your arse to fix an issue that takes 2 minutes or less to fix

Why do you say that? I have my Mac set up just how I like it. I find it quite customizable for the most part. It’s true Apple doesn’t expose everything via the gui but if you google it you can configure most os-level things (Apple apps are a different story). It is based on FreeBSD so it’s running unix under the hood. The command line should be very familiar to anyone coming from Linux.

Yeah, I know this feeling. I have the same when I have to switch to Windows PC...

@devios1 yep exactly. Using Mac for all 2 years.
It is great dev environment for work. My productivity is kinda bit a high when using Mac.

@mlask At least, Windows doesn’t force you to have a Windows computer, a Windows Phone, a Windows Watch and an Xbox to use their features.

@jAsE-Official and nobody forces anyone to use Apple ecosystem...

@mlask Tell that to iOS developers who need a Mac.

The hardware is great tho. Also got a MBP for work. Managed to use OSX for 3-4 months, then replaced that garbage with Arch and I'm happy camper.

@jAsE-Official why would I? Nobody forces anyone to be an iOS developer ;)

@mlask Sometime your Rent force you to be a iOs Dev. Can't judge the life of anyone, that's very arrogant.

@karelian IMO, the hardware is not great if you consider the price.
