So as mentioned by people earlier, devRant certificate is expired. Well, three things to do:
1. use dr.molodetz.nl for using devRant with a certificate.
2. write down snek.molodetz.nl or molodetz.online for when it really goes down, we're building a new community there. It's not ready yet, but is already in use for a long time. Literally everyone welcome. Just like dR, no moderation, freedom.
3. let's hope on not to loose too many friends!

devRant is a great site, but the wholesome, respectful community, is made by made by people.

yeah. use a random, third-party page to insert your login credentials. totally something any tech-literate person would do.

Edit: @tosensei, on snek, e-mailaddress is not even required, that's how much i give about your data. Same for molodetz registration, it advises to use a fake one :P No confirmation emails. I have worked for Dutch biggest hoster, and now to handle data.

@iiii also, i don't even downvote your unfriendly post and never did because i value opinions. But better than such opinions, create a pull request to the 'half baked solutions'. Also, one of those half baked solutions made this site completely spam free. The half baked snek solution has more features than devRant actually. And it's for when devRant GOES down, i want to have it finished more myself too. Cool part is about software in development, what is worked EVERY day on, that everyone can contribute ideas that really can get implemented.

@tosensei ostream does have a VPS on that very same server and I do trust him completely. Also, any idea how the complete open source world works? It's all based on trust and people who trust others. Trust is key, and an empire is build on it!

@tosensei what are you protecting? This is a dying forum. The mobile app has long been off the store. And even when it was active, dfox was just as much a random bloke as retoor is. The stakes are limited by using an alt name and unique password, what happens to those is ultimately up to the randoms.

I also wouldn't trust anything important on that server accesible to Retoor and anyone who makes the slightest effort to gain access, but nothing here actually is important.

Your ultimate safety is that if someone locks you out of your account you can always get in touch with the admin over email or matrix and manually verify your ownership of a bunch of things the account claimed to own in the past.
