PaaPsik10296y@kgbemployee yeah the prices are high. But the product feels premium. I'm thinking used - which has already lost the initial depreciation, and would still be good for a few years of use.

@kgbemployee Louis Rossman should be required viewing for anyone considering a Mac. Their software is what it is, but their hardware has so many engineering compromises that I would never buy one until they prove they've learned how to make hardware properly. (So far they haven't.)

PaaPsik10296y@kgbemployee I've watched Rossmans videos for a long time now. I know that. I thought about building a hackintosh but the compatibility issues...

@pionell If you understand the risks, than go for it. I don't mind someone gambling if they understand the nature of the gamble. Most Mac buyers think the hardware is amazing, though, so I try to be informative when possible.

PaaPsik10296y@powerfulparadox I know its underpowered for the price, and has a lot of apple proprietary shit thats hindering people from fixing it. I'm still thinking which one is better to get

Got a mac to use for work, and to be honest, I never thought that I would say this... I kind of like it.. The gripe I have with mac's is that it's not user upgradable having the ssd and ram soldered on. If this weren't the case I would probably buy one myself
