I’m cursed/blessed with hyperfocus, so if I’m working on a project I can literally be reading documentation, coding, and writing documentation for 12 hours straight. I try to temper it by doing things like remembering to eat meals and the cats do their part in distracting me enough to pull out of hyperfocus for a few minutes at a stretch. If I’m doing unrelated tasks, I tend to time manage better. Kind of depends. I enjoy coding so it’s generally difficult to pull myself away from it.

Well, considering SAP is mainly looking for stuff, not much. We normally spend most days looking for a field a table or a transation, fixing someone's problem, etc.
I would say I only code about 10/20% of the time, depends on the day.
But honestly, I get bored really easily, so it's probably for the best. -
@AmyShackles what’s your usual environment like? Do you work alone in a room or say work in pair programming with others in open office space around?

@lambdaCurry I would like it more if it wasn't SAP. Everything we do that *isn't* SAP, I enjoy doing it.
Even if the problem is something related to hardware, which is my weakest point, I enjoy it because at least I'm learning something. Even stupid things, like when someone calls about a problem and it magically solves itself. But SAP is the devil's work and I hate that part. -
@lambdaCurry Have been just coding at home in a pretty quiet environment for the most part. Before I graduated Lambda School, I was in a Zoom meeting with other students most of the day collaborating on projects we were actively working on or troubleshooting issues. Now that I’ve graduated it’s much less Zoom-tastic.

cursee165956y2 to 5 hours depending on my schedule. Rarely got bored with coding unless I'm in burn out or serious lazy mode. I work in pomodoros style. So 25mins work, 5mins break. Take 10-15mins break after every 2hours of working.

How much time at work do you usually spend purely coding? How often/quick do you get bored/tired? I’m just curious what fellow developers feel like.
