After 3 or 4 hours of being at the computer my back aches. Fixing the issue was a combination of things, getting a solid gaming chair with lower lumbar support, getting a sit/standing desk, and taking a break to walk or stretch about every two hours.
Investing in a solid chair is key so make sure you budget and do some solid research on what you want and then try them out at a computer store. -
Ubergeek2086yI have no pain. I do push ups every day. Do some sports and train your muscles and your back and you can code as long as you want. 🙂

Having perfectly ergonomic chair etc just delays the symptoms.
The actual key is to make sure your back is kept fit and that you take frequent walk breaks even if it's just 5 minutes -
hitzoR2636y@Ubergeek Exactly, not even the best chair makes it up for healthy exercise. Squats and push-ups are great way to start, but one has to make sure he is doing it properly.
I never had any of these back problems in my life. I exercise atleast 3 times a week for 30-60 minutes. -
jeeper58096yYou should at least stand up for 5-10 mins every hour. I have a few back problems so for me it’s more like sit down 5-10 mins every hour. Standing desk and the ability to move around a bit has helped. Your shoes and bed make a difference too!
Gym ball chair is a good, economical solution as good or better than multi hundred dollar ergonomic chairs.
