    Oi, monsieur! You better start speaking la France soon if you want to keep your tête on your shoulders! The roi is always watching...

    @Gregozor2121 oh, I mean disable.
  • 8
    @irene "Dude, you can't just call French people disabled!"
  • 5
    @Jilano i totally can 🤔

    I hate French language. It sounds so awkward.

    I like where this is going..

    ALLONS ENFANTS DE LA PATRIE, NOTRE JOUR DE GLOIRE EST ARRIVÉ!

    Parlez vous pommes frites?

    Non, je suis touriste!

    @just8littleBit it's the first line of the French national anthem
  • 4
    @irene Ooh, careful with those words here ! You might hurt somebody !

    Well you know what ? ENGLISH IS AWKWARD, NAAH ! *goes to cry in french in his special place*
  • 2
    @Brosyl It's called a bakery, mate :p

    @irene "How dare you! You... You drinker of clear alcohol! Have you no shame?!"

    @just8littleBit Oui oui oui omelette du fromage

    I have a confession to make that will not tilt the earth on its axis. But it does say something about how thwacked are my thoughts sometimes and the priorities I attach to them.
    When I was a big thc smoker, I called my pipe M'sieu le Peep. But pipe is feminine in French. I always was conflicted about using the the incorrect gender for pipe. But why the eff does it matter?
    My mother vehemently denies dropping me on my head as an infant. I think I'll threaten her with talk of regression therapy to my childhood. If she winces like she's just rec'd a free gift of electric chair lite [sic] current I'll at least know something happened when I was young!
  • 2
    @Brosyl English is awkward. Especially because it takes words from french! Uggggh those words with tons of redundant letters.
  • 2
    @Jilano you mean vodka? 🤔

    I don't drink vodka or any strong spirits. They taste like pure alcohol dissolved with small amount of water. Yuck 🤢

    Sweet liquors are exception. Basically anything which does not taste as the thing above.
  • 1
    @irene Yeah English is composed of around 28% French as far as I remember.

    That is what I meant, yeah, haha
    Couldn't agree more. I guess it's just an efficient way to get hammered without enjoying it *shrugs*.
  • 1
    @Jilano I prefer getting drunk with wine and maintaining the good level of dizziness in my head.

    Never understood being drunk to the point of fainting and loosing memories. I do want to remember all the shit. Drunk parties are entertaining. Especially with some chick around.

    @bols59 you should try German then.. things are not only male or female, neither is also a thing.
    It’s always fun to see people fight about words we adapted from English.

    A: “ oh, is this das display you talked about?”
    B: “ no no no, it’s called DER display”.
    A: “are you retarded? Of course it’s DAS display”
    ...

    @just8littleBit Russian has no pesky articles. We have word forms and endings. 😄 I'm most cases the word itself has its "gender" by some pretty easy rules. Some foreign words are exception though. Like "coffee": by usual rules it seems like neutral but it's for some reason male.
  • 1
    @irene I have to admit, I really like Russian..

    I even started learning Russian once, but i forgot EVERYTHING except for how to introduce myself, greeting people, please/thanks and stuff like that..

    But the worst thing is your letters. How do you decide which ones to use when multiple combinations result in the same pronunciation?...
  • 2
    @just8littleBit what do you mean exactly? Some example maybe? 🤔

    Btw, English has obscure same pronounciations too. Like "f" and "ph".
  • 2
    @irene I don’t remember the Cyrillic letters but ain’t there things like a letter for “sh”, “shtsh” and for “t” as well?
    Seems redundant to me..
    Or maybe I don’t remember correctly..

    Anyway, I like the language. Finally something more aggressive than German :P
  • 1
    @just8littleBit but "sh" and "shch" are different sounds 🤔 (ш and щ)
  • 0
    @irene well then I‘m badly informed..

    For some reason I can’t ++ your response..
  • 2
    @just8littlebit the *RISE of the French empire, not Raise
  • 1
    @m0nk true.
    What can I say.. Oops..
  • 0
    @just8littleBit "What can I say except you're welcome..." *shrugs*

    (It's your fault)

    just disable it

    Well if we're talking about languages, I'd prefer Japanese a lot more than English for expression. I'm still pretty noob at it tho
  • 0
    @TheAnimatrix why Japanese?
  • 1
    @irene I like their emphasis on pitch other than that I find their creative works very intriguing .. not just anime... Their songs etc.. feel very different than the repetitive nonsense I've been getting from the other 6 languages I know

    @irene you mean which languages ?
  • 0
  • 0
    @irene My primary one would be English followed by Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Sanskrit
    (We were moving around a lot when I was small)

    I definitely won't forget the bout I had with french when I was 15...Soo annoying !

    I would add Japanese, I can converse, read and write though I don't have any direct experience with natives.
  • 1
    @TheAnimatrix so basically Eastern languages mostly, yeah?

    I like Eastern languages too. But I'm a bit annoyed by excessive over usage of "sh" sound in Mandarin. It's just plagued with shushing.

    I find Japanese good too. Mostly because of easy pronounciations due to open syllables. (I'm a Russian speaker. I know what it is to have several syllables in a row. 😂)
  • 1
    @irene haven't had experience with Russian but yeah Japanese is nice to pronounce. Music feels light on the ears.

    In contrast I die when I listen to German music. Their words are like knives. No offense guys but for communication it's alright like any language.
  • 1
    @TheAnimatrix I like German too 🤣
  • 1
    @irene I don't mind the language it's just the music. Well I prefer soothing music a lot and haven't had a taste of those in German, maybe if they exist I can listen to them and my opinion could change .
  • 1
    @TheAnimatrix well... There was a time when I've listened to mainly german heavy music 🤷
