I started using devRant soon after I landed my first ever gig (internship) as a dev, and I've grown leaps and bounds since, and been almost a decade.

From a starting where I could barely manage my expense, to where I have saved enough to have a runway and have my own startup; yeah I am starting up...

Building something on the same lines as devRant for a completely different market...

Sounds good, wish you luck. But I researched whole devRant. It never had more than 10.000 active users. It's a lot but too less to consider it really successful these days I guess. We're a niche. And while it's not the case, ranting would be considered as something negative. My observation that it attracted people that just actually do care about what they do with certain experience level.

@Lensflare i saw some dude in a video posted to reddit that came from tiktok. The guy was calling for posting jokes about race so we could all laugh at ourselves. To me it was so naive and in a perfect world would have been fun. But as is on these platforms it would a lot of people banned for racist jokes.

@whimsical well, it's having a much bigger market... it's related to gaming.
