    Kinda same, as I just realized..

    I used to be in techsupport and administration, but since I'm still a trainee I helped out my mentor I had back then with coding, then he left, I was assigned to do changes in his code and then I switched sides completely.

    @Gerrymandered they can be used in some places (SAX is one of them).
    Switch itself is rather nice construct. If you care about the performance, read about "Duffs device". Not nested, but abused in some sense. Yet - effective.

    @Gerrymandered last time was about 5 years ago at university. That's rather ineffective way too store the data.
