it is the black magic fuckery of stoping people from reposting.

Yeah! I'd be in favour of automatically subtracting a 100++ for the attempt, plus a temporary posting ban of 12h for rants and 4h for comments. Just to motivate all these reposting shitheads to use their BOTH their braincells.

    Finally, All hail the creators.

+ i agree on the idea of banning those hard reposter

Need a button to get redirected to the rant where the said image were posted

    So they finally implemented AI

@Fast-Nop and those who do it by accident have to suffer?

@jonii they don't do it by accident. They do it because they are worthless wankers who don't have original content of their own and instead repost shit from the internet.

These stupid and slimy worms are so pathetic that their only point of being is to prove that you can stack shit 5 to 6 feet high.

They would deserve 20 years as galley slaves in the lowest deck with the only joy of being whipped at least once per week, and it's just a pity that today's ships are diesel powered.

    /rant.

    @Fast-Nop holy angry rant!

is this the upload filter they were talking about in article 11/13? 😈

@Fast-Nop So you’re saying that nobody, ever, in the history of life, has ACCIDENTALLY reposted something? I love the feature, I’d like a few more Facebook-esque things blocked on here. My problem isn’t with your philosophy, it’s with your premise.

@broseph If you don't want to accidentally risk a stupid repost, then fucking don't abuse rants to repost shit you saw anywhere on the internet. It's that easy, really. It's not as if devRant were an AOL garden where people don't know that there's internet outside.

Original motherfucking awesome content is the hard currency.

@Fast-Nop you're on the internet. apart from rants, almost nothing is OC, maybe 0.1% of content.

if you have something against memes on devrant in general, we have tags for a reason.

Will it work if I change the size of the image and a few random pixels?

Now I have a slight urge to try to beat it...

How did they manage to detect this? Convert to byte array and compare?

@git-gud I don't mind memes. What really sucks with the meme category is that it's always the same ones. Let's make the memes great again! ;-)

This feature has been here for like a year already, if not longer. If nothing has changed, it uses a hash of an image for comparison, so 1px difference is enough for it to not be a repost.

@craig939393 they could be using message digests... but it'll be too sensitive to even one bit change in pixel values

@billgates please try and tell what happens
