@vocuzi bro i just i realized im currently making a presentation and I explained but blatantly 3 components of a software which are obvious but i just felt the need to mention it so it feels like theres a lot going on

is this bad and should i delete this slide

I want the person who made this joke to design an accounting software. Once. In real life. With real accountants as customers.

@ilPinguino the reason why this kind of software sucks is bad UI design from the beginning. In order to sell it to as many clients as possible, a lot of workflows must be possible. The price is that no workflow is really well designed into the software, and while it is somewhat usable for all, it also sucks for all.

The second aspect is that those who decide to buy that shit are not those who have to use it. Therefore, the software is not designed around the users, but to impress the buying managers. Usually with as long a list of mutually exclusive concepts as possible.

The other prominent kind of software that often sucks equally, and for structurally similar reasons, are open source interfaces.

Think it's actually more often valid for ui than for jokes. In both cases some people don't have the background required and some just don't get it...
