c3r38r170364518hMaybe the contrast in high brightness is bothersome. I not only use dark modes, but as low brightness as possible.
Also, working with very low light or very illegible things (like dark mode can be sometimes) makes you force your focus and that's also not good. -
Lensflare2110313hYeah I prefer light theme. Easier to read when the room that you are sitting in is bright. -
BordedDev291012h@Lensflare That is the correct awnser XD
Bad for retinas has to do with contrast, too high and it becomes fatiguing and too low you'll strain your eyes.
I have a 1k nits display, and I'd rather not blind myself XD -
cafecortado803311hPure white over pure black burns retinas, yes. Using a darker white or a lighter black while still being a dark theme it's the way to go. -
Lensflare2110311h@cafecortado but then it looks awful because everything is grey. Freaking depressing. -
BordedDev291010h@Lensflare Then it's too dark :D A slight yellow is actually the highest contrast instead of white ;P -
I've been using a bloody dark theme of my own making before it became cool. There's something alluring about the red font on black background.

@D-4got10-01 I‘m hearing the sound of it charging up in my head.
Btw funny thing, when I played C&C Renegade regularly I once hallucinated hearing that sound when walking in the street.
My instinct told me to take cover immediately 😂 -
@Lensflare Ah, yes... in C&C Renegade we were on the wrong side of that thing...

I hate dark themes, do you? I suspect them to be more agressive on the retina.
question
dark themes theme retina
