Son of a bitch. You can't have gaps in your CV or you are considered a red flag. Companies want good-working rats that never take breaks in life!

Sick of this shit.

    That sucks.

I was thinking that, if that is decided by AI and you have no chance of explaining the gaps, I‘d consider using AI to fill those gaps with something that looks nice and is technically not a lie.

Yeah, you're forced to lie. I also have to lie about that the day that i have to work again. I will just say self-employed. Yolo.

Honesty is great, but at a certain moment just plain stupid.

@Lensflare Nah, it was decided by a (dismissive) human this time. I explained my gaps and how I was searching for jobs at that time and they just smirked at me as if I was bullshitting them and then cut me off as not fit.

They didn't even let me talk. They were just waiting to do their little HR charade because I already knew they had picked another candidate and they just do this to stay legal.

I have gaps and was able to get hired. The secret is to make it into a nice looking chart/timeline:

TBH if the recruitment is concerned about gaps in your resume, probably not a company for you. You don't want to work for assholes because they will never treat you right!

I know one king that has like 2 years block gap and each time recruiter asked about the gap he just said - it is only sane to take a break here and there! He said it with a fucking smile!

Other time when the company was not interesting to him he just said for the same gap: "well they don't offer many jobs in a prison." At least he had a laugh!

@afaik1 or even better make an open source project or contribute to some then put it in your resume to fill the gaps.

When asked about it, you just wanted to give something back to the community

... and shit like that ...
