How you start your day as a developer?

I brush my teeth, do my hair and then walk half asleep to work.
I shower the day before, I dont know why people shower in the morning and then complain how tired they are.

@Marl3x you do your hair and then walk half asleep to work? Did you also do your hair half asleep?

Bollock naked at the desk with a coffee. Shower clothes and food don't come into play for 7 hours

@ipinlnd Most of the time my bathroom is ice cold, so im awake the moment i walk in.
But inside of a cozy jacket, walking besides a loud road, listening to music, I doze off walking. I'm pretty jumpy because of that.

My morning tends to be about 30 minutes of "fuck life I don't wanna get up" no matter when I get up. Then if I'm actually leaving my house that day, I'll shower immediately, if not then I put it off for a bit. Then comes coffee (always drink your coffee AFTER you brush your teeth kids). If school day, about 2/3 of the time I'll actually go. If no school or not going, just pick a project and look at it for like 10 minutes before deciding whether or not to actually work on it.

After these, however, I always check devRant no matter what. devRant, connect over code, tech, and life as a programmer! (I thought a fake ad spot would be kinda funny)

In all seriousness, I really do check devRant every morning. It's replaced Facebook and Reddit for me (although I still do check Reddit). After that, if I ever stop, then I actually pick something and work on it for a while. Yesterday it actually turned out to be some changes to my polybar config. Today it might be something big. Who knows?

@Marl3x I always shower in the morning/early day rather than the night before, otherwise my hair is a fucking mess and it will not work out at all (I have long hair, goes down to my chest. Did a face reveal once, you can find it if you want). My hair simply will not cooperate if I shower the night before. It's a pain in the ass some days, but I like having long hair.

Open iterm, open tmux to get my tunnels for personal, work, and vnc up. SSH to my dev server, load jira and trello to see what I'm working on. Check slack for any complaints from the team that might require more urgent bugfixes. Flex my fingers to dive into some work and....

Some chode decides to come to my desk to talk about sports or TV or his ass rash, and my morning is blown.

@infernalempress For me its the opposite actually. I have to do my hair the day before, otherwise it looks like shit.

@Marl3x On school days I'm lucky tho. My sister has to be on her bus at 7 and I have to leave a bit past 8, so I just shower after I get her on her bus.

Swearing at my alarm. Swearing in the shower. Swearing at my coffeemaker. Swearing at drivers on my way to work. Drinking the coffee I brewed.

After the coffee I become a sentient being capable of speaking words that are not curses.

Exiting S5. Take a deep breath. Use a few moments to recall all the myriad of things I was doing before sleep. Update any missed timers (and the clock). Notify all the connections that were lost since sleep. Cheerfully greet my user.

@iftipro So, how do you start your day?

@infernalempress I have a remote job so mostly I regret when I get late! But when I get early I am damn happy. After that shower, social media chechking, breakfast, walking for 10-15 mints in a green area. Then when my mind is fully clear I open redbooth to check what's going on!
