"Pyramids" by Terry Pratchett is probably not what you were looking for, but it's the only fantasy book I know that's got assassins in it. And instead of magic it's mainly focused on people(and animals btw) in all stages of insanity.
Definitely not dark fantasy but the funniest book I've ever read. -
iAmNaN68456ySounds like a project for someone. Build an app, and very purchased by Amazon or Google, retire.

@monkeyboy thats the closest to what im talking about, but it keeps recommending unrelated crap and i have to read the synopses (synopsises?)

Brolls31156yIf you’re ok with old-magic over hand wavey wizard magic then I can’t recommend Stephen King’s Dark Tower series enough.

mt3o19136yI know one engine, it's called - friends :) having friends interested in reading books - helps.

It might sound strange, but...
Magium - interactive book for android/ios. Not really falls upon your description, but it has a bit of everything you said and it's really good. -
Try Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy. It got magic, assassins, politics and DRAGONS. What's not to love there?
And if you have patience, do read Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. That is one damn good book you'll remember for many years to come.
This is !dev as fuck but does anyone know something like a book recommendation engine? There are a ton for movies and anime, but couldnt find a good one for books. The best would be one where i input some books and fonds me similar ones.
Alternatively, im looking for dark fantasy books where magic is negligible and potentially has assassins in it, if anyone knows good ones.
