In the spirit of true randomness, I like to speculate about aliens. What’s your favorite theory about them? Anything’s fair game: whether they actually exist, methods of propulsion, origins, exobiology, exopolitics, eyewitness reports by credible reporters (pilots, military, air traffic controllers, high-profile political leaders, etc.) whether abductions are real and, if so, why they do it, etc. If you’ve had an encounter, I’d love to hear about it.

They probably exist somewhere, given how big the universe is. However, that's also the reason why we're not going to have contact unless they found a way to trick the speed of light e.g. via higher dimensions. Which would require higher dimensions to even exist AND that we could have access to them. As of now, there is no evidence for that, not even hard theories.

It's inprobable that they don't exist.

They don’t exist coz this is all one big cruel joke

What do you make of the more credible reports, where UFOs were tracked on the ground, in the air by pilots, and via radar all at once? Or the various mass sightings of aircraft exhibiting flight characteristics that are impossible for any aircraft we currently have?

@M1sf3t Seeing how good we are at living alongside other things, that wouldn't even surprise me.

When I was a kid I thought I could talk to aliens using telepathy. Like, I had a connection with some alien dude(s?) that watched over me. Idk, I don't think it lasted for a long time but it's definitely one of my strangest quirks. Besides being certain that my room was full of ghosts every night and me having to project a mental shield of light/resin (like the mosquito in Jurassic Park kinda) to keep me safe from their attacks.

    The only valid answer:
    I don't know
There is life out there for sure (99,9999%) but the real question is if there is intelligent life anywhere. I've not seen any so far.

@ihatecomputers That sounds like something many people "experience" except it's not aliens but a supernatural old perv in the sky.

    @ihatecomputers

Sounds like how I felt about God when I was 7.

@telephantasm Huh, if I had been more exposed to the idea of God than being fascinated by aliens I totally would have gone for the God-idea. I never told anyone about it and I grew out of it. Imagine if I had parents encouraging my talking to the almighty, I'd become totally religious! 🤓 This timeline is okay though 😀

@ihatecomputers I was gonna say the same as someone else did. This sounds like exactly what other experiencers report. When they’ve gone under hypnotic regression, it turns out that those feelings of being watched were part of deeper, covered memories that were about their actual abductions. I’m not 100% sold on every abduction story being real. I think there needs to be physical evidence or else it’s just a story. But the people who do provide physical evidences, such as implants found on X-ray or MRI scans, some surgically extracted and analyzed to be of components not from earth, those have a lot more believability.

@stackodev The problem is that these physical evidences do not exist. Also just fabricated stories you heard.

My personal belief echoes Brian Cox’s who recently discussed it on Joe Rogan: in all likelihood there exists intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. The question is a matter of how rare is it. According to Cox, he finds it very plausible that we could be the only intelligent species in the entire Milky Way.

Couple that with the limitations of General Relativity and communicating with such advanced species becomes all but impossible. It would take millions of years to receive a response even from our closest neighbouring galaxy.

@stackodev You're telling me some Martian put his probe up my prepubescent butthole?

And I thought my uncle was bad 😅

@SAM41 I don’t say this to be antagonistic. I just find it amazing that people still think this is fiction when there is so much that has come out as solid acknowledgement since the first season of X Files aired. CIA and USAF documents that were once classified and now are not are fabricated? Air Force pilots and commercial pilots and air traffic controllers are on record with eyewitness testimony are fabricating? Why? It certainly won’t further their careers. The New York Times is even publishing leaked military video as actual straight news and not the usual silly jabs. Old dying retired military and NSA guys are giving death bed confessions, documented, even. Not something one would normally do in their dying moments unless it was important.

@ihatecomputers haha, the abduction cases I’ve studied are never about anal probes. But they do often involve human reproduction and genetics. Typically abductions run in families, as if they’re interested in particular blood lines. The rH blood factor seems to be a common theme as well.

I think that there is inteligent life in the universe. And I don't mean human-like inteligent, but much much more advanced one.

To be precise, I think there is type 3 civilisation (Kardashev's scale) in so-called Supervoid. Basically they consume energy of entire galaxies, so we cant see any light coming from those galaxies - there is just 10s of galaxies in place where should be 1000s of them. Ofc this all is kinda subject to speculation, but it seems very probable to me.
