Professor in college: We have our fest coming up. We need some volunteers for technical team to build website and android app.

*She says that and looks towards guys. Some guys raise hands saying they were interested.*

She didn't look towards girls even though some girls were raising their hands too.

Then she looked at girls finally....and she said "Oh you girls are interested too? We have cultural and decoration team. You can join that. "

I was triggered to next level.

I stood up and asked "Can't girls be part of technical team?"

She said "oh...yeah sure...." With not much hope that I would get into technical team.

But I ended up passing the screening round and got into technical team. She realised at that time that I knew my shit.....

There was even a time when I was in HODs office and she pointed at me and went "She is my student." trying to take credit for me being so Awesome ;)

LOL!

She was my guide for final year project too. We ended up writing a research paper and won best project award as well.

This was a year back. I have graduated and now I am working....
Just remembered....

    I would hate her so much

    You did great. Have my commendations. I hope there'll be a day when people won't be judged by the gender or colour but acknowledged by what they can achieve.

    Where do you live?

    @Root I did hate her initially. But later when I noticed that she realised what she did was wrong and that she was proud of me.....I was fine.

    @Bleh Did her behavior toward other students change, or only toward you?

    @Root Ah..... Now if I think about it....I guess at least in my batch, it was just me.

    Now I feel maybe only after a girl proved she was good enough, her behaviour towards that girl changed 😶😶😶

    You are an Indian.

    PS: You did great

    I'm glad you stood up for yourself. I experienced this in college in terms of race. Whenever we had group projects, none of the other white guys wanted to work with me and 2 other black guys because they thought we can't code. The professor only answered paying attention to the white people even if I or the other black guys asked a question. Funny thing is we also produced clean and good code cos we start working on any given assignment asap since we all had two jobs and didn't have time to slack. It even got to a point he didn't pay much attention to grading my assignment which I ranted in the link below:
    https://devrant.com/rants/238277/...
    He eventually turned around after proving that we can code too. Smh. It still pisses me off. Ha!

    @fizzbuzzCoder Why did you say I was Indian?

    @Bleh Why did I say that? I dunno. Maybe just because I noticed that.

    @Midnigh-shcode How'd this have to do with men oppressing women?
  • 2
    @linuxxx
    Maybe the instructor underwent a gender change surgery and became a man later on.

    Let me guess... You're from India. Right?

    Coz this kind of shit only happens in India.

    @Midnigh-shcode that's nonsense

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- no, that was sarcasm

    @Midnigh-shcode what did you even say before your last comment on this thread? Seems like it got deleted.

    @linuxxx nothing.

    same as any time when someone. complains about men keeping women down. that was the whole point of how and why my comment was sarcastic.
