Why aren't styleguides made by democratic descisions?
Just ask 1m devs and do whats done the most.

    Majority isn't always right. Expert's opinion may be worth more than newbies' preference.

    @Robinha huh? A or B, that's it. Limit the Options beforehand.

    @gronostaj there is no right or wrong. A styleguide should make reading and foremost understanding code easy. Therefore majority is automatically "right".

    @nitwhiz You're assuming that people will by default use what works best for them. That's not always the case. Oftentimes they use what they are accustomed to, even if alternatives are arguably better. Also, they don't consider using something they have never seen and didn't come up with it themselves.

    For a large sample of experts democracy would probably work. But if your sample is 50% newbies, script kiddies and code monkeys, then democracy may not be a best idea.
