Whenever someone gets rejected for a dev job and the recruiter/HR person says "Our team just feels you are a bit too junior for the position at this time".. what they're actually saying is "We, as a company, are just not willing to invest any time or resources into training or helping you grow professionally."

It's the opposite side of, "we feel you are overqualified" meaning, too old.

Or we need someone already skilled to complete the current project(s), we have deadlines to meet and all.

@iAmNaN I always use overqualified as "this job is just a 'for now' thing and as soon as a good offer comes in you are going to leave" it's a defense for the company from losing an asset 6 months after investment into a person before they mature

After their eye popped out from your resume, they knew right away that they won't be able to pay. So before they hear the figures from your mouth, they shove their spiel on you. But here in my place, especially in the government, that might mean they've fixed the hiring already. They don't care about skills. It's whom you know, not what you know. Sad story.
