I couldn't care less for aggressive 20 year old devs opinions.

Everytime I see a post where someone is being an asshole making strong comments about software, I'm like "oh, how cute, he's trying to be taken seriously by insulting others".

Then I check history and it's just a flow of hateful comments and memes...

(I do mind respectful and humble 20 year olds though)

    Never quite understood how someone could get so riled up about a bit of code that they feel the need to insult other devs for doing things differently 🤔 maybe I'm just not passionate enough about the spaghetti I write 😂

    Agree, except it's not cute at all

    @Elyz I don’t condone being an asshole at all, but this is devRANT. I’m fine if one dev needs to blow off some steam about crappy code written by another dev. It’s preferable to them making their workplace hostile over stylistic differences with a senior developer. There’s a couple of senior devs at my job who have just kinda given up. Luckily, we can just roll our eyes and laugh about it, but some people may be more high strung and need a better outlet where people at least understand what they’re talking about (as opposed to non-dev friends or family). But FUCK memes 100%, yeah!

    @Darkovernerd ouch...
    yeah i would definitely pick the aggressive 20 year old over that

    @Darkovernerd I'm guilty of that, indirectly:
    Rails stores bools in the database as 't' and 'f'

    @C0D4 well, I think he means +/- ten or fifteen years... 😐

    @Root eh, that can be forgiven. I'm talking about something like this:

    string isValid = "true";

    I had someone in a project with anger issues... I was happy he was fired...

    Every discussion ended with 120 decibel screaming and yelling.

    In the end the reason why he was fired was because I included in an internal excel sheet a row (next to approximated hours, hours, difference) called "Anger issue management"...

    While I seriously feared a violent outrage after explaining that I will (yes the person knew it before) he just said 'this is nonsense and it doesn't Matter... Well... Loosing every day 30 to 45 minutes sums up.

    :( If you hate everyone, there are consequences.
