New to the development field. Is it standard to give managers a lump of money to distribute as raises to their employees? Essentially, the only way I get a good raise is if all my peers suck AND are over the minimum pay for their position. WTF pay raise doesn't depend on individual performance?

    At most companies, the most efficient way of getting a raise is by getting another job, unfortunately.

    @lreading so I see. I like the company. But...this hurts me. Both financially and spiritually.

    @LiquorFueled If it's your first job, stick it out for a couple years and move on. Otherwise, time to find a better one. Most companies don't offer you less than what you're currently making.
