Firefox all the way for me

Add-on fuckup is pretty much ignorable to me
  • 9
Keep using Firefox. There is no better one.
  • 9
I might not like what Mozilla is (wasting on) doing, but I support Firefox.
  • 4
Vivaldi. I just love to customize everything. That's pretty much was the main thing that made me switch
  • 2
@asgs meh, considering *why* they were doing it, i think mozilla's full of crap. Banning sideloading addons that aren't in compliance with their guidelines? Oh come on, 1984 has passed, mozilla's a little late
  • 3
    Chrome since forever.

  • 3
    @fuck2code Chrome or gtfo
  • 2
    Chrome, FireFox and sometimes edge.
  • 7
Netscape is the only way to use the web.
  • 7
    @Alice lynx or suicide
  • 4
@Frederick considering your views on free speech what do you think about mozilla banning dissenter?
  • 7
@fuck2code go fuck yourself. IE 6 or you didn't even try to be up to date.
  • 2
I mean i have exactly one addon so all the crap didnt really hurt me
  • 1
@fuck2code maybe. But I don't want to hate and stop supporting a product that did a lot of things to the public, just because some people in their org decided to do something
  • 6
@Alice use curl to get the html file, convert it to a pdf with ms word 2009 and then view it in a pdf viewer or you should jump off a bridge
  • 2
Chrome. I'd switch to ff but it's not as intuitive as chrome. Or at least my fingers do not like the change
  • 7
@fuck2code bitch, please. Use file_get_contents(); display it on your own website, convert style to table layouts and open that in IE 5 on your Windows CE notebook. I don't think you even want to be serious here.
  • 2
    Vivaldi
  • 2
    Safari
  • 3
@Alice @fuck2code curl is the best one. Simple and fast, you just need to parser the HTML in your head.
  • 4
    Anything but Chrome.
  • 4
@-red how's IE working out for you
  • 2
    @fuck2code Over Chrome ? Anyday.
  • 4
@fuck2code As i understand it (i couldnt been wrong, i just found out for not that long ago).

Seems like a lot of the reason behind it as i understand seems to be due to "hate speech".

First of all the words "hate speech" are abused to much, its in this generation used to censor political options, which is far from hate speech.

So one of the huge problems with this is, i see many comments from people from the right, which is understandable, due to the huge censor of some right & moderate politicians and journalists. We all know the huge topic that, that is a part of this problem (i dont really care about it maybe self) it definitely exist (far from in the size far right claim it to be, but it exist).

Everytime this happend the media / government would try to limit freedom of speech even more
    > the persons getting censored getting even more angry -> this will repeat until we actually are going to see violence (yeah i actually believe thats going to heppend sadly)
  • 4
@Frederick As i stated i believe this is just another thing that is going to give fuel to a bigger problem. (Keep ignoring problem wouldnt make it go away, only make it worst). If people just was able to see the bigger picture instead of be so simple minded, this could be resolved pretty easy, but the avarage human are too stupid to be able to listen someone else opinion, to make mutual solution to this problem.

Lets follow this logic, should the journalist go to jail if i use their car to kill someone (no they shouldnt not) the same logic can be applied here, if someone post something "hateful" the platform shouldnt be punished due to someone else crime, this is ridiculous.

This is another stupid attack on freedom of speech by some people who can only handle their own option and feelings, its clearly many of these persons supporting this censor are fascists.

Freedom & Freedom of speech over stupid feelings.

@fuck2code @Alice don’t know what the fuck y’all been smoking, but using curl to download the markup, then parsing it to something readable with a bunch of regex’es and finally sending the output to a printer via telnet and printing out the actual page is the only true way to browse the web.

@UvaishZafri that's not how we do things arounnd here

Just saw you returned, hello again... Do you remember me?
  • 2
@fuck2code well only now I would correct myself, it's not like I'm hunting them
  • 1
@Mizz141 my partner in crime? Sure how can i forget? Btw it's not like you were the first one to notice i'm back.
  • 4
@Root Something really have impacted and how i see thinks like i do now, i have always been interested in history i always was told how "the alliance, the US & soviet was the good guys", into i look into how all the side did evil & war crimes and how there was victims from the enemies side as well. Of cause i am not talking about the "SS & facists" but how "the good guys" killed citizens or how young people was forced to a stupid war by their facist leader.

My granddad lived really close to the border between Denmark & Germany in WW2 as a kid, he told me that he could see how some of the young man was forced to a stupid war by facists. At this point i started to question everything i had learned about anything, see anything from one side even if its considered "your" side is dangerous.

(I wouldnt had shared this with the avarage "social media stoner", due to they would probably miss the point) I hope i kinda makes sense.

I just love how this rant went from browsers, to most "convenient" ways to get websites view, to ++ whoring, to war politics

    I use Brave.
  • 1
@terminal434 and how is for you? Personaly I would put brave ad-blocker on worst pieces of shits known to humanity
  • 1
I'm glad that the add-on system is secure. Used nightly for a couple days then the update on mainline hit and everything works again.
  • 1
This might sound a bit odd as I'm saying Brave Browser. It is a chrome build with added tweaks it is my fav browser now.
  • 2
@EDWCode the ad blocks works for the most part, the only thing I've noticed it missing is the ads Google sticks in Gmail. Beyond that it's been stable as a rock.
  • 1
@terminal434 strange, because I encountered sites in few days when I tried it, where not even all of the images is being blocked by it, but objects like divs as well
  • 2
@Frederick I absolutely get what you mean.

And really, the more you dig into anything, the more crap you'll find. Everything is just layers upon layers of crap. Some piles have different building materials and might look better than others; doesn't mean they aren't full of crap, too, if you dig far enough.

    Sigh.

Chrome, or chromium if you want more privacy
  • 1
Chromium nobody? It is almost like Google Chrome but open source. It surprises me that most people I work with did not even hear of it
  • 1
    First the browser answer..

IE, Chrome, Edge, all have their place, as not everything nowadays works in Firefox..

There was a time when things did.
  • 1
Then the question about freedom of speech.

I remember when I first came online that a lot of new groups formed, mostly left wing that talked about the importance of free speech and how the wicked right wing governments wanted to stop them.

Now those same people are complaining that right wing folk are using freedom of speech against wicked left wing governments..

Now the answers about war, or at least, some thoughts regarding it.

The greatest wisdom about the issue I learned from a would be Russian leader, who told me that in war there is no right side, only your group, verses a different group.

They also had some insights into wealth creation too:

Poor person works hard, make a fortune, leaves it to their kids.

Their kids look after it and it grows.

But then they have kids, without carefully choosing who they are going to have kids with..

And their kids start to spend the fortune.

Then their kids have kids, and they spend it all.

Then their kids are poor and start to work hard to make a fortune.

And so the cycle repeats endlessly..

With few family bloodlines bothering to choose their lineage carefully..

And in essence, its these groups that war against each other.
  • 2
Which begs a question, how do we stop war ?

Perhaps it is helpful to understand what war is, how it happens.

Humans as groups try to compete against other groups, if they can't do it fairly, they cheat..

You get a war when one side thinks it can take from the other and get away with it.

So, is peace a case of a strong defence ?

@EDWCode they released a large update for it (I think a couple months ago) that substantially improved my experience with it.

Recently started using brave and so far it has been pretty awesome
  • 2
    Safari
  • 2
I still use Firefox cause I'm Firepilled.
  • 2
I still use Firefox, because what are the alternatives that the people we develop websites/applications for actually use? Basically just Chrome / Safari / Edge (or IE if you're unlucky). Out of all of those, Chrome is the only one that even comes close to being usable for development, but I switched back to Firefox when they released Quantum and haven't looked back

@terminal434 and that's the thing, I tried it out just a week ago. Not months
