100% random on this one BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT...

I currently have a minecraft server up and running but everyone I work with seems to have left it and I seem to be the only one on now...

If anyone is interested in joining the IP is minecraft.lxmcf.com and it's a vanilla 1.14.1 server with a few datapacks :-3

(PS it's only a 2GB server so please be gentle)

Edit: should also note it's the java edition

    @rutee07 Skyrim... Always Skyrim

    @Alice 100% agree, unfortunately only could set up a Java server :-(

    If I can get some extra money to host a bedrock edition server myself I for sure will!

    @Alice I pay to have the java server hosted by someone else, would have to do a bedrock server manually (I can't be fucked setting up my own remote server to host it)

    @Alice it all comes down to laziness with me tbh...

    But if I do ever get the motivation I'll let everyone know

    My pc crashed yesterday... But do I want to join? Oooh yes... :)

    You should look into getting Spigot, it runs way lighter than the standard vanilla, while still having the exact same functionality and compatibility (as long as you don't add any plugins).
    It's way better for running on small servers without much ram.
    The only annoying thing is that it splits the world save in three folders (overworld, nether, end)

    Btw Minecraft.lxmcf.com is a domain not an IP 😉. IP is what this gets resolved to.

    Anyhow, cool effort. I too like running private game servers ☺️

    @Froot I was hoping no one would notice that I called the address an IP haha

    @endor good point.
    I used to run a spigot server on a RPi 3. We were only 2 players but it worked surprisingly well

    @Froot woah, Spigot on an RPi3? Damn, did not know it was *that* efficient, wow.
    I made the switch to it when my 1 core VPS started lagging heavily with 4-5 players, and even a 2-core 4GB ram VPS was occasionally stuttering.
    I guess Minecraft's code is that bad huh

    @endor heh yeah. It's not perfect but it does work on a RPi.

    There are non java versikns of minecraft? Is this only for server side?

    @bukovles no it's the main application too, pocket edition, consoles and windows 10 edition are all running on a C++ written engine called bedrock

    @lxmcf oh nice, I'll try it since my client is a bit laggy. Thx :D

    @lxmcf @bukovles mind you you cannot host a bedrock server. As far I know the server software is only available for Java edition.

    @Froot no pretty sure they released a public server for download of bedrock... I could be wrong though

    @lxmcf oooooh. I got to look I to this. Thx!
