@norman70688 Possibly. I was her TA for a while, and she was my trainer when I got this job. I know she has two amazing little girls who I love to spoil, so I might just send her gift cards for them.
She and I have often bought things for each other or done things for each other (it's how we each treat our friends), but she got her degree in design and has been working in change management since she left my team (toxic boss), so I wanted to at least get her portfolio started for when/if she pursues it.
If I have to "pay more" later to help her out, I would in a heartbeat, even if she never did this for me. -
@Root the problem is, nothing seems like it's enough. I would need 3 months to make a single flyer. She said to give her a week...

Root825445y@QueenMorgana Honestly, something personal. Make it yourself and mail it to her with a thank you note.

@Root that's a good idea. I'll head to the woodshop this week to see if I can design a mini groot or Jack Skellington thing.
Thank you!!!! -
jthm3115yI think you don't necessarily need to pay her back now if she doesn't want to. One day maybe an opportunity presents itself where you can do something nice and unexpected for her. Don't stress over it

@smb26 I'll try again in a few days. If not, she's getting more surprise gifts until she tells me. 😂 the organization will definitely need more, but I don't know that I'm sticking around for the next board year after this, so that's a them problem...

I asked my friend to design a flyer for an organization's annual dinner, asking her to send me an invoice so I could pay her (I can't design worth shit, she's doing me a huge favor).
She said she'll do it, declined payment, and doesn't even want me to get approval for her to put it in her portfolio...
How the hell do I pay her back for her work? If we lived in the same town, I'd at least take her to coffee and lunch, but she moved states and I moved countries :(
question
she won't let me pay her
