Hey everyone. I am a freshman in college studying Cyber Security. I have been practicing various programming languages such as httml, css, java script and SQL. Does anyone have any recommendations for resources to study? My end goal is to be blue teaming for my schools Cyber Defense team in the fall.

    Hi welcome to devRant! :)

What's your knowledge on Cyber Security?
And on networking? TCP/IP, ARP, DNS, MAC?

I'm not that convinced that you'll be able to do that sucessfuly with that described basic tech stack. How do you think that HTML, CSS, JS does defend your "Company"?

Unless you're really good at detecting Social Engineering. Like when foreign people entering the building and installing 4G wifi routers to syphon off data in the server room.

Wow, thank you so much for the quick replies! Of course I am still super fresh to the feild. However, I am simply trying to build this foundation to build on. In the past I worked briefly in an IT position at my high school and have completed my first semester of college classes (Windows Server admin, VPN firewall, Database management). Since summer has started i have been studying Comp Tia Network + as well as the history of open source and "hacking culture ". Most recently I have completed the basic levels 1-10 on hackthesite which I was happy about.

You may focus on web application security. A good knowledge of web technology is very helpful there, but be sure you also check out some server languages, too. Additionally the whole concept of company IT and IT basics is worth to learn.

I'm not sure how the classical 'team blue' role fits here, but knowledge in web technologies isn't a bad start.

Edit: As I've now seen you reply: Continue that path.
