I don't understand slack chat. when I get in a room there are hundreds of messages I haven't read. am i supposed to go back and read all of those messages?

    Depends on how you use it. The most powerful feature (IMO) is the ability to compartmentalize discussions based on ideas (or channels). So discussions about design can go into one channel, as an example.

    the most powerful function apart from integrations is the search. It's basicly a search engine in disguise as a chat app.

    @heyheni I like this, also the notifications based on keywords. Certain non-work related chats only notify me when people talk about stuff I'm interested in :)
