No context, so, I don't really see the issue here

@alexbrooklyn Minecraft runs better on linux.:D

    oh, I'm sorry

apparently mr parzi here can run photoshop, after effects, premiere, and every AAA game flawlessly and doesn't run into any driver issues ever.

    Yep, the sad truth.

    @jesustricks whoa there

i was referring to the fact that LINUX RUNS ON FUCKING EVERYTHING.

(also no, i haven't ever had a Linux driver issue, mainly because I use stable releases and not Arch. Can't comment on those programs, as I use Gimp and AAA-level gaming on Linux is fairly new. Also I don't edit videos.)

@Parzi wow, did you just "woah there" me? too far!

If you never had or heard of any printer, wifi or gpu driver issues on linux even with the most stable distros, you totally bs'ing me.

does it sometimes run surprisingly well on old hardware? sure, but it's not all rosy perfect either.

12 years ago I had my first wifi problem on ubuntu.
    next computer, sound issues.
now I have problems with nvidia optimus (on any distro)

I don't even care to make the fucking printer work, because I know it will be a pain in the ass.

On each of these occasions I had, the goddamn thing fucking worked on either windows or mac.

Most of these problems are the goddamn fucking vendors. They suck balls.

But them being evil doesn't undo the reality of driver problems on linux.

(It's not like the Linux Foundation manufactures devices that you cam use as alternatives)

I see that that has not been your case, but it has been mine and many others for sure.

let me make it clear that linux is still my favorite "os"

@nitwhiz even the Windows Store Edition (which is required for cross platform play)?
  • 1
@kwilliams don't know about this one, i own the java version.
But isn't this (bedrock?) version written in c++? I guess this thing runs good on all platforms.
  • 2
@nitwhiz it's probably written in C# and tired to the Windows UAP ecosystem.
  • 1
@kwilliams must've been weird for notch. "Yo we replicated your whole game btw. Was easy."
  • 1
@kwilliams bedrock is the windows apps thing.
The c++ rewrite was Windows 10 edition.

They just fucken made minecraft in/for everything possible.😅

@jesustricks I'm very aware that "your mileage may vary" applies here, since generic drivers aren't 100% compatible, even on Windows. However, the only driver issue with Linux i've ever had was due to the 3DS being a fucking nightmare by design.
