Not really. I have left games open in one of my gaming laptops and a series playing in another laptop before(stillvhave both of them) and shit was still good hours later with no noticeable stress on the machine or crazy battery drain.
Your machine is good and you keep it smooth, so can we on other operating systems.
Linux does do it by default though -

Try using the same amount of resources and background processors as windows under Linux, and see how that battery goes.
So i left 5 tabs running on my laptop with arch linux till morning ( Two of the tabs were a YouTube video).
The battery only drained like 3 % 😦.
If were running windows on the same machine, it would have drained to 0 🤯
