Interesting idea. I know a lot of classes I read the chapter before the test. Like minutes before. Then I test and get 95%. Later I don't remember anything.

Using the internet to do your job is a given now. Especially programmers. I don't memorize anything anymore. Except passwords.

I've had two professors do this as well and it genuinely helps lower the stress of studying.

That's actually the standard way of doing programming exams at my uni 🤔

I once did a test where the task "build a website together", Internet and even communication was explicitly allowed.
This made it possible for anyone to "do his part" and thought how to work together in a bigger project.

This as a formal test at university (like in the linked article) is great, but in the article's example, the key element of communication - and coordination - is still missing.

@sbiewald I mean the students could still communicate via a chat system when the professor is not watching over the monitor haha
