TL;DR: what salary would you give a mid or senior Symfony fullstack dev. What would you ask during interviews?

We're currently looking into hiring a fullstack Symfony dev, focus on frontend. Expirience wise it should be a mid to senior role, as I'm the only other dev. We're looking for someone remote, so don't really care where they're comming from.

What salary would you deam apropriate? And what would you ask them in an interview? Any other things to consider?

you should mention that you live in the most expensive country in the world @Wack.

here an oversight over saleries in zurich switzerland. 1 swiss franc = 1 usd

    It depends on the country.
    Here is a guide.

Well, we're looking for a fullstack Symfony dev, with a bias towards frontend. Since we do have a Space in a coworking space but most of is work remotely we're not limiting the search to Switzerland, but are looking explicitly for a remote person.

This is the current version of out job ad. What do you think about it? To much information? To little? Is something missing? Would you put the salary in there? Why yes, why no? And if you'd out it in as a fix number or a range? https://medison.ch/jobs/...

    @Wack

Sorry I have to be frank here, that job add is not good yet.

    1. hire a branding agency eg. https://www.goldinteractive.ch
It makes it not trustworthy, if there is no corporate design. A Corporate Design in a job add shows to the job seeker that he matters and is not just an afterthought. A job add is your companies business card and the place to impress.

    2. typography is important, if it looks shit it will not attract top talent. Use no more than 70-78 characters or 10 to twelve words per line. And use decent amount of space around it.

    3. Good copytext will attract good talent, bad copytext will only attract the desperate.
Shorter is better and stay away from corporate speak.

    4. Point of view. Your add only puts in what you want. Only i i i not the job seeker. Think about what could interest the job seeker. What are the perks? how big is the company / team?

I made you a suggestion for an improved add. (PDF)

@heyheni of course you can be Frank, that's why I asked here! Especially the fourth point is what I completly list focus of.

About the Design and all. Absolutely right, until now we haven't paid any atention to it. At least not any to speak of. That's Kind of the Main reason we're looking for a frontend oriented person as our second dev.

I'll Look into your sugestions and the PDF tomorrow (on mobile it won't open)

@heyheni I've talked to our co-founder and we're both in agreement, that your version looks way beter (not only the Design but also the content). We'll need to tweak the text a bit, but we'd love to replace the current one with one made by you.

Would you drop me a mail to pascal.wacker@medison.ch, so we could discuss what contents changes we would want? Of course you will get paid for your work!
