Holy crap. I am so torn between getting a razer blade 15 and an XPS 15.

I am going for the small-but-powerful build because I keep finding myself coding on the go (with GoLang, snicker).

I was pretty happy with my Dell Inspiron 14 even though I had issues with Linux in the beginning. But my main gripe right now is how heavy it is to lug around together with it's charger--which I can't leave without anymore.

I'm looking at both laptops' 1800 USD configuration which pretty much have similar specs. And I also did some research about how each plays with Linux and they pretty much have the same (fixable) problems.

What I wanna know from the fine folks here is what their experience have been like. Cause I know I can make it work with Linux but if the total experience is just meh then I don't think they're worth the hefty price tags.

    ..Small..
    ..Xps15..

    In what way does a 15inch laptop qualify as "small"?

    Why not xps13? That little fellow has some serious kick! And imo qualifies as small. And at least skylake version works perfectly with linux [I do not recall having _any_ problems at all after installing Mint].

    xps13 doesn’t even feel like a 13”

    @HughRant ikr!
    It feels more like 10"!

    But when in action - it's at least 13!

    @netikras that borderless screen really does its job

    I'm using Dell XPS 15 9560 with Linux. Thing's overheating quicker than I'd wish, undervolting and BIOS updates helped a bit. NVIDIA GPU starts throttling after a few minutes of sustained load. Killer Wi-Fi is terrible, 5 GHz doesn't work at all, drops connections or is slower than 2.4 GHz (same on Windows). Wouldn't recommend. I also have a Latitude 5450 (slightly older) and it works like a charm both on Windows and Linux.

    TL;DR avoid XPS, get a Latitude.

    @netikras I guess I should've said light instead of small. Sorry.

    A light laptop with a nice big screen. I've tried the 13 and while it is pretty awesome, it's also a bit smaller than I'd like.

    @Angry Light and nice big screen? Sounds like LG gram. Honestly I don't know it's specs, but it's 17" and still one of the lightest laptops ever.
