@asgs No. I mean they are doing their best to make their users uninstall old java versions. And if you find yourself in a situation where you need java again - what do you do? If you are an average user, you go to oracle.com and download the newest java. And that means all the telemetry, all the new Oracle bells advanced users don't like.

Java's security is allright. If there are any flaws, they get corrected with security patches - it's not a biggie.
