    Programming what?
Generally I would suggest MacBook Pro if you can afford it, absolutely no problems during 3+ years.

    What are you developing?
    Price range?
You gonna use Windows, Nix or do you need a Mac?

There's too many variables for such a vague question my dude.

    a desktop

    Arduino board.

Unless you can enlighten us on your "programming" requirements, I suspect nothing more then basic logic handling.

Programming front-end app with react and other backend app, doing editing video and some little rendering in 3d and other stuff. Price range could be 1,5/2K €. I already have a MacBook Pro mid 2014 but I need something more powerful atm. I will use Linux and not Windows.

Last year I went on a trek to find a laptop with an 8750 (intel) in it. This gave me 12 cores (HT obviously). This set me back 800 USD on sale. Then I added SSD 1TB and 16GB ram. So around 1100 USD total.

    It is an Asus FX504:

It has held up this last year. It is almost out of warranty. It plays game reasonably well. The 12 cores really makes things compile fast.

Off topic: is there a @ElPapi already? @ElPapi42

@JhonDoe dont know, i always use 42 at the end because usually there is one ElPapi already in almost every service

@ElPapi42 looks like you're the only papi in this town. And yah, I can imagine a "elpapi" in many other communities. Nevertheless I found strange to have a "ElPapi" already here, that's why I asked in the first place.

PS: W con yandel el duo de la historia 🎵 mas flow 2! 🎵 nelly! 🎵

(I'm jokingly assuming you like reggaeton by your user name)

I‘m very happy with my XPS13 running Ubuntu 18.04..

The keyboard is AMAZING and performance is grand as well, especially after getting rid of windows.
